Euratechnologies , digital services area. Lille

Digital Excellence Centre, Euratechnologies opened in 2009. This visit will allow you to discover the successful rehabilitation of a former textile industrial site (Le Blan-Laffont) which is now a hub for digital startups and companies. Thanks to Euratechnologies, the “Bois Blancs” district was modernised .

Lille Fine Arts Museum ( Le Palais des Beaux Arts) and the Townhall (L' Hôtel de Ville)

Lille has strong industrial roots but is now a classy and cultural hub. Lille Fine Arts Museum, one of the largest art museums in France, is dedicated to fine arts as well as modern art… I can show you major works by Donatello, Van Dyck, Jordaens, Goya, El Greco, David, Corot, Delacroix, Rubens, Rodin…If you have time, I can suggest a quick visit  to the Town Hall, a masterpiece of Art Deco architecture.

Rue Royale, French Mansions of the XVII th - XVIII th centuries and Saint André Church

Rue Royale, there are so many mansions, wonderful examples of French architecture. Let’s take time to admire them!  We can also visit Saint André church where Charles de Gaulle (born in Lille) was baptised.

Sainte Catherine Church (XIII th century) and the Vauban Citadel (XVII th century)

A visit which combines religious and military architecture ! St. Catherine’s Church is home to, amongst other things, exceptional stalls. After crossing the Deûle Canal, we go to the Royal Entrance Gate of the Citadel, which Vauban himself called  “the “Queen of Citadels”.

Founded in 1875, “Little Oxford”,  the ” Université Catholique de Lille” is one of France’s major educational training Institutions. A place I know quite well: I studied and I worked there for a while.

Wazemmes District, its markets and bars, a vibrant day and night life

Wazemmes market is one of the largest markets in France. Come and feel the atmosphere ! Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday from 7.00 am to 2.00 pm. The covered market is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
